Climbing Speed

I have always found descending faster than ascending or bouldering (scaling laterally). I also believe the speed you move climbing is closely related to the difficulty of the rockface...

I would suggest you can climb a number of meters equal to half the difference between the difficulty factor of the climb and your Reflexes with a minimum of 1 metre per round.

I.e. Reflexes 18 climbing a dangling rope (difficulty 6) could move 6m per round. (In my experience this would have to be a knotted rope to be only difficulty 6!)

When descending you might use their normal climbing speed but give them an extra metre of distance covered.
Do you find this valuable?

As someone who has also climbed from time to time, I'm very much aware that it is as much a feat of strength as of dexterity or reflexes. I make my players check vs. (STR+REF)/2 on their rolls. Do you find this valuable?
